I wrote this when I was about 58 and update it every year, only my age changed, and I’m now 65.
Male, born to Christian religious parents. An Indian of average intelligence (I think and hope), average education, and faculties (physical and mental) are in reasonable working condition, had quite an okay family background and upbringing, nothing lacking, and no cause for complaint.
Why I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ
I am a weak person and need help to live my life well.
I have to accept that I have done enough wrong in my life, and I am sure there has to be retribution and recompense, which I cannot meet.
While I know physical death is inevitable, I do not wish to fear it.
I would like to be courageous, not fearful and face the difficulties in the world head-on.
I would like to believe with certainty that after death I will go to where God, my creator, is, and I would like to be sure that I do not go to where God, my Creator, is not!
I accept even through what is taught by most religions, that a pure blood sacrifice is needed for full recompense and retribution for wrongdoing.
I believe that wrongdoing is the result of Sin, namely being separated from God.
I believe in the blood sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross. I believe this sacrifice was for all people of the world. I believe in the Bible. I believe in the Triune God.
I believe that better people than me have put their faith in Jesus Christ, particularly my grandfather, great-grandfather, my parents and wife, Rajkumar Ramchandran, and Oswald Chambers.
I am deeply impressed by the greatest commandments (which He says, encapsulate the whole Bible) of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Bible, namely “Love God, Love others as you Love Yourself”
I believe these commandments are the answer to the world’s needs, even my own needs. They help me to the extent that I obey them, to be at peace with myself, love myself with gratitude for what and who I am and thereby be able to think likewise towards others.
I have to accept that I do not know what love is till I begin to look to God and be helped to love Him, and thus love myself and likewise others.
I would like that I do not harm others, and instead, if possible be of some help to others.
I would like to know right from wrong based on a sensitive conscience of good standards.
I do not wish my life to be a waste.
I would like to be real and realistic.
Since I began to personally believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, at age 32, I have experienced a lot of what I have mentioned above.
So there! The Way to go? Yes, methinks!
